PASIGHAT: The East Siang district unit of BJP on Sunday organised a grand reception at Ruksin to honour the newly elected state party president, Kaling Moyong. The event, led by district president Mirem Komut, witnessed the presence of party leaders, Pasighat Municipal Corporators, ZPCs, ZPMs, panchayat leaders, and other dignitaries.

Kaling Moyong, a native of Mirku village in Pasighat, began his political journey in 2003 as an Anchal Samiti Member. He joined the BJP in 2012 and was elected as the MLA for Pasighat East in 2014, serving two consecutive terms until 2024.

In January 2025, he was unanimously elected as the State BJP President, succeeding Biyuram Waghe. His homecoming in his new leadership role was marked by an overwhelming display of support and enthusiasm from party workers and local leaders.

Addressing the gathering, Moyong acknowledged that his election as state BJP President was made possible with the blessings of Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, state in-charge Ashok Singhal, and the party high command.

He emphasised the responsibility entrusted to him to further strengthen the party at the grassroots level and expressed his commitment to working tirelessly for BJP’s continued success in Arunachal Pradesh.

He appreciated the state office bearers for their initiatives and asserted that BJP Arunachal Pradesh ranks among the best in the country. He assured his full dedication to the party and announced that a new team would soon be constituted to work in the greater interest of the organization. He also urged party workers to actively implement and promote government programs and policies at the grassroots level, ensuring that the benefits of development reach every citizen.

Congratulating Moyong on his new role, BJP state Vice-President Tarh Tarak expressed confidence that the party would flourish under his leadership. He highlighted that Pasighat has had the honour of producing four BJP state presidents - Bosiram Siram, Dr Tongor Tapak, Tapir Gao, and now Kaling Moyong.

He called upon party workers to strengthen the leadership of the new president and work towards expanding BJP’s presence in the state. He also lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pema Khandu for their efforts in driving all-round development in Arunachal Pradesh.

Speaking on the occasion, Alo Libang, MLA and Advisor to the Chief Minister, and MLA Ninong Ering also extended their congratulations to Kaling Moyong. They expressed hope that under his leadership, the party would grow stronger and continue to make significant strides in the state.
