ROING: Krishi Bhagidari Prathmikta Hamari was celebrated at KVK, Balek, Lower Dibang Valley office premises recently.
DAO B Mengu, District Horticulture Officer (DHO) K Ama, i/c DFDO O Pertin and innovative farmer Jatan Pulu were present along with 100 participants who took part in the programme.
DHO K Ama suggested conducting of trials to maintain the same taste of oranges in different location of the district.
Senior Scientist and Head of KVK, Dr Deepanjali Deori and other guests also addressed the participants.
A technical and an interaction session with farmers and scientist were also held. Presentations were given on natural farming, biofortified crops, oilseed and health benefit of millet by Monika Panggam (SMS, Agronomy) and Nanang Tamut(SMS, Home Science).
Videos on natural farming as well preparation of dishes from millets were also shown. The different food items prepared from millets were also displayed as exhibits.
Farmers were shown an exhibition of different exhibits - viz. agriculture implements, indigenous germplasm, biopesticides, technical bulletins, organic dye etc.
