Lower Subansiri District Panchayat bags National Panchayat Award

Itanagar: The Lower Subansiri District Panchayat bagged the National Panchayat Award 2019 under the Deen Dayal Upadhayay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Purashkar category. Instituted by the Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj, the award is given to the best performing Panchayats (District, Intermediate and Gram Panchayats) across the country in recognition of their good work at different levels including delivery of services and sanitation.

The Ministry has been incentivizing the best performing Panchayats as recommended by the state administrations.

Former Lower Subansiri Zilla Parishad Chairperson Hage Kobing and Deputy Director-cum-Nodal Officer of Arunachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj department A G Ligu have received the award from Union Minister of Panchayati Raj Narendra Singh Tomar during the awards function held at C Subramanium Hall, National Agricultural Science Complex, New Delhi on Wednesday.

The Lower Subansiri district Panchayat has been awarded for 2017-18, said a communique from New Delhi based Arunachal Bhawan’s Principal Resident Commissioner.
