ITANAGAR: People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) general secretary Kaling Jerang has challenged the State BJP to make public the documents related to the alleged illegal appointments in the Chief Minister's Office (CMO).

Jerang said this while responding to the statement of State BJP, claiming that no illegal appointments were made in the CMO.

Addressing mediapersons at the Press Club here on Tuesday, Jerang said that whatever questions that the PPA is raising now regarding illegal appointments should have been raised in Assembly by the representatives concerned.

"This time reports of illegal appointments are from CMO so if the BJP-led State Government is clean, then they should prove it and provide proper documents to refute the claim of PPA," Jerang said.

He said that this is the right time for citizens, especially youths, to raise their voiced against illegal appointments. "How come they bypassed the APSSB and appointed two persons without an interview in the CMO?", Jerang asked.

He added that if they have been appointed with proper interview and from their parent department, then the BJP should provide documents instead of shielding their Chief Minister.

Earlier, BJP spokesperson Nabam Vivek had, during a press conference, refuted the allegation of PPA president Kafa Bengia regarding illegal appointment in the CMO. He said that there is no illegal appointment in CMO, and all the employees are from their parent departments.

"Moreover, the allegation is that two people were appointed in the CMO before the establishment of APSSB, that too from their parent department, which is the Hospitality Department, with proper interview and advertisement," Vivek had said.
