ITANAGAR: In a proactive step to strengthen preparedness ahead of the southwest monsoon, Lower Subansiri deputy commissioner Vivek HP on Monday convened a high-level review meeting, following a state-level video conference on ‘Preparedness to Tackle Monsoon Challenges’, chaired by the chief secretary.
The meeting also served as a follow-up to an earlier preparedness session held on May 16.
Key focus areas included the status of food stock reserves, drainage clearance, availability of medicines and doctors, as well as the condition of road, power, water, and telecom connectivity across the valley.
The DC directed the medical, transport, and police departments to keep sufficient vehicles and manpower on standby to ensure a swift response during emergencies. He also emphasised timely public information dissemination through the District Information and Public Relations Office (DIPRO).
The review was attended by ADC Himani Meena, DySP Ojing Lego, DDMO Nima Drema, heads of various departments, and representatives from the ITBP and CRPF, an official communiqué informed here on Tuesday.
