Naharlagun Kristi Kendra Distributes Flood Relief in Assam

Itanagar: Naharlagun-based Kristi Kendra on Sunday distributed flood relief to more than 350 families of Gohpur sub-division in Assam’s Biswanath district.

In two relief distribution camps set up for the purpose, 250 families of Golsepa-Kuhimari village and 110 families of Dipara village of Gohpur, who were severely affected in the recent wave of flood in the state, relief materials, were provided by the members of Kristi Kendra.

The relief materials included rice, dal, potato, salt, chira, candle, matchbox, ORS, mineral water, milk, biscuits, mosquito agarbatti, soap, a press release informed here on Monday.

A health camp was also conducted in both the villages where Dr. Moon Moon Das of Rama Krishna Mission Hospital here and Dr. Devendar Sachdev of Naharlagun-based Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) checked the flood-affected people and distributed medicines with the help of Biswanath Chariali district administration and local youths of Gohpur.

Kristi Kendra extended its sincere thanks to all section of the society residing in the state capital including various organizations like Adi Baane Kebang (ABK) and its women wing, Standing Together to Empower People (STEP), Anajori self help group, Dream Team SHG, Lakshmi SHG, Little Rose School of Naharlagun and members of APLS for their overwhelmed support and cooperation for flood relief, the release added.
