NDRF Conducts Mock Exercise On Earthquake At Circuit House

Itanagar: The NDRF C-company on Wednesday conducted a day-long mock exercise on earthquake of 7.8 intensity on Ritcher scale with its epicenter at circuit house Aalo in West Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.

The mock exercise was conducted to make aware of incident action plan, incident response system and incident support function as a part of training to each stakeholder to know its role and responsibilities in such natural calamities.

The entire mock exercise was witnessed by head of offices and public, an official release informed here.

The district incident response team rushed to Gumin Kiin on call from the incident responsible officer and incident commander directs operation section, planning section and logistic section to play their assigned roles.

The civil police wrest the reign first and NDRF team join in with sniper dogs to carry out the evacuation works.

Incidentally, a fire accident also occurred at New Market during the mock exercise and team ready at its full strength and preparation doused the fire within no time.

In the debriefing session, Disaster Response Officer cum DC, the Incident Commander, the team leader NDRF, Safety Officer and DDMO had detail interaction on the three day mock drill and exercises conducted with head of offices and decided to conduct such drill and exercises to put disaster plan into practices, the release added.
