NPP to organize conclave on 'Regional Aspirations, National Outlook' in Arunachal

ITANAGAR: The state unit National People's Party (NPP), cutting across party lines, will be organizing a Conclave with a theme 'Regional Aspirations, National Outlook' on October 19 at DK State Conventional Hall here.

Addressing the media at the Arunachal Press Club (APC) here on Wednesday, NPP General Secretary Pangka Bage said the marquee speakers from various fields of academia, journalism and political parties will be participating in the conclave.

He said that mainly three issues will be discussed during the conclave, striving for regional aspirations through political aspirations, North East Regional politics & challenges, interplay of religion and politics evolving scenario in Arunachal Pradesh and the last Naga Peace process; politics of it and regional ramification.

"Basically, these three points will be discussed in the conclave. Moreover, regional issues pertaining to the state like, PRC, Off-spring, Chakma & Hajongs will also be few highlights of the conclave," he said.

Also inviting various students' organizations, Community Based Organization (CBOs), religious leaders etc to participate in the conclave, Bage said the discussion during the conclave will help the public understand the issues in-depth from various perspectives.

"Every issue that will be focused is mainly from the Northeast and the state specifically and has no where linked to any hidden political agenda. However, there will also be panel discussion on Refugee influx and its challenges to indigenous identity," he added.

The chairman of TIPRA, Pradyot Manikya DebBarma will be speaking on striving for regional aspirations through political aspirations which will be moderated by Makepeace Sithlou, an independent journalist from Manipur.

The deputy editor of India Today Kaushik Deka and national affairs editor of The Wire Sangeeta B Pisharoty will be joining Journalist Ranju Dodum in the panel discussion on North East Regional politics & challenges.

Ranju Dodum is a journalist from The Dawnlit Post.

A keynote deliverance on Naga Peace process; politics of it and regional ramification will be presided by Chief Advisor to CM of Nagaland Abu Mehta, who is also General Secretary of NDPP, Nagaland.

The deliverance will be moderated by NPP state secretary legal & legislative affairs Pura Khongkung.

Meanwhile, Arunachal Christian Forum (ACF) President Toko Teki and Nyishi Indigenous Faith & Cultural Society (NIFCS) President Pai Dawe will be speaking during the panel discussion on the topic, 'interplay of religion and politics evolving scenario in Arunachal Pradesh.'

The discussion will be moderated by Managing Editor of Eastern Sentinel Kenter Joya Riba.
