One Arrested with Suspected Drugs in Itanagar

ITANAGAR: A team of police led by Itanagar SDPO Kamdam Sikom under the supervision of Capital SP Jimmy Chiram arrested one Yura Tate and seized seven plastic tubes containing 0.88 grams of suspected heroin during a raid in a house near B-Ed College at Bank-Tinali here on Wednesday. The police also seized 127 empty vials, 1 roll of silver foil, and Rs 3,900 in the presence of the State Nodal Officer - Narcotic.

Drugs Peddler Arrest in Itanagar

SP Jimmy Chiram informed that the raid was made on a tip-off received by the police department of selling drugs from his house. He said a case - 195/21 U/S 21 [A] NDPS Act has been registered.

Chiram also informed that, in the past few days, the ICR Police has hunted down all the major drug peddlers and has seized a huge quantity of suspected heroin. Accordingly, Naharlagun police last Sunday, during surprise raids in different locations of Naharlagun, arrested one Lokam Lulu from Damsite, Naharlagun.

Chiram said, one country made sophisticated automated pistol with seven live rounds of 7.32 calibre (Without license), 31.520 gram suspected heroin, Rs 51,500 was recovered and seized from his possession.

Subsequently, a case has been registered vide Nlg Ps case no.92/2021 U/S 21(b) NDPS Act and 25(1-B) (a) Arms Act. He also informed that one Techi Joshon was arrested along with three others, who were detained later suspecting to be a customer of Joshon on the same day from Sood village, Naharlagun. 53.930 grams of suspected heroin, Rs 40,000 was recovered and seized. A case has been registered vide Nlg PS case no.91/2021 U/S 21(b) /27(a) NDPS Act. He said that the entire raid and arrest was possible by a team of Police led by Naharlagun SDPO Dekio Gumja along with OC Inspector Khiksi Yangpho and others.

Chiram appealed to the public to extend support and contact the Capital Police officers straight against drugs. He said the name and address of the informer will be kept anonymous.
