Padma Shri YD Thongchi felicitated by Sherdukpen community in Itanagar

ITANAGAR: Sahitya Academi awardee and noted writer YD Thongchi, who is also the president of Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society (APLS) was felicitated by the Sherdukpen community at a function on Sunday, for being selected for conferment of prestigious Padma Shri. The felicitation programme was held at the DK Convention Centre, here. Speaking on the occasion, Thongchi expressed his happiness to represent the Sherdukpen community wherever possible.

He also narrated instances when he was recognized by the people out of the State. He thanked all the people — besides the state government and the APLS — who had nominated him for conferment of the Padma Shri.

The community lauded him for all the laurels he brought for the community.

The program was organized by the Sherdukpen Employees Welfare Association (SEWA).

Former Director of Youth Affairs DK Dinglow was also felicitated on the occasion. Dinglow retired from active service on January 31, this year, a press release informed here.
