PASIGHAT: A portion (2-Spans) of 11 Kv Transmission line was washed away by the continuous erosion of Siang River on Monday night, which is 2.5 km ahead of Namsing village. Meanwhile, the same 11 Kv line was restored and re-aligned few days ago by dismantling the earlier one.

This fresh erosion will lead to dismantling and re-alignment of 01 Km 11 Kv line for restoration of electricity, informed a press statement from Pasighat Electrical Division. The villages, namely Namsing, Mer, Gadum,Gadum-II under East Siang District and Paglam, Banggo,Kaling-I, Kaling-II and Loglung of Lower Dibang Valley District will remain cut off from electricity supply, thus affecting a population of 5,000 people approximately.

However, the villagers of Namsing led by the gram chairperson are voluntarily assisting the Department of Power under Mebo Subdivision for restoration and re- alignment of electricity, especially in preparation for the ensuing Solung festival celebration, by mobilizing men, materials and machinery on a war footing. The temporary restoration of electricity may take 2-3 days.
