Ram Krishna Misson School inaugurated at Aalo

ITANAGAR: The general secretary of Ram Krishna Math and Mission from Belur Math, Swami Suvirananda inaugurated the 74-room colossal school building at the RK Mission School premises at Aalo on Sunday in the presence of swamis from all over India, officers, alumni and the School Management Committee amid Vedic chanting.

A two-minute silence was observed on the occasion as a mark of respect to the departed soul and pioneer of the RK Mission School.

Speaking on the occasion, Swami Suvirananda termed it as a home coming after 23 years and admired the developments that have taken place in the school after his departure as the head of the institution.

He was all praise for the people who are directly or indirectly involved in its expansion; and also lauded the role of late Boken Ete who was instrumental in setting up the institution at Aalo and asked the Swamis here to engrave his name during the platinum jubillee celebration of the school to make him a part of the institution forever.

“Great Indians have drawn inspiration from the works of Swami Vivekananda,” he said, and exhorted the students to imbibe his ideals and works that hold big relevance today.

He also released the souvenir -- "Urapnam" -- and felicitated the members of the School Management Committee.

Sharing his memories, an alumnus of the school, Major General Jarken Gamlin said that the school has produced many luminaries to serve the State and the nation at various capacities, adding that the school had laid the foundation for him to be adjudged as the ‘Best Cadet’ in his military college at RIMC.

“It should be our endeavor to contribute our best so that the institution grows from strength to strength from the State,” he added.

Swami Aschuteshananda, Trustee Ramakrishna Math and Mission and Secretary RKM Narottam Nagar said that West Siang district bears the torch for establishment of RKM schools in Arunachal Pradesh as it was first established first in 1966 and led to further demands of missionary school in this State.

The secretary of RKM Ranchi Swami Bhaveshananda, secretary of RKM Deoghar Swami Jitendrananda and secretary of Aalo RK Mission School Swami Yogiswarananda dwelt at length on the growth and development of the school in their respective regions.

Alumi Dr Kejom Padu and Geli Noshi also shared their moments on the occasion.

Songs, dances, bhajans and kirtans by students and brahmacharis of the school were at best on the occasion, an official release informed here.
