Water Supply to Aalo Township Disrupted Due To Landslide

Itanagar: The main water supply source to Aalo Township has been disrupted heavily for the third time due to massive landslide triggered by earth cutting for road works which was carried out and aligned just above the 300mm DI Pipeline, that caters to the water needs of the denizens.

With the disruption of the water source, consumers are likely to face water crisis for the third time during this winter that too on the eve of New Year, an official communiqué informed here on Friday. Public health engineering department source informed that restoration process would take time as the pipelines which were buried under the ground, have to be cleared with machines and need to ascertain all leakages in the pipes.

The road construction is going on under the supervision of PWD Aalo Division.

It may be mentioned that water consumers in the township have to make queue in streams and wells for several days when the said pipelines were disrupted twice earlier.
