Resolve issues of Arunachal pensioners'

NAHARLAGUN: The aggrieved pensioners who has been pursuing with their demand for implementation of government of India 7th Central Pay Commission (CPC) recommendation and others has resolved to again pursue the matter with the State government for immediate consideration.

The governing body meeting of Arunachal Pradesh State Government Pensioners Association (APSGPA) was held at D Sector on Monday. It discussed all the issues and genuine grievances of pensioners.

During the day-long deliberation by its central executive committee, several issues regarding the problems being faced by the pensioners and their family members were discussed.

APSGPA president LodKojee said that the members of the pensioners community have been facing the problem and with only two points of demand, the Association will move the State government for consideration of the demand.

The major issue is the "implementation of 7th CPC recommendation appropriately with the employees in respect of pre-2016 pensioners/family pensioners and non-payment of arrear fixed medical allowance for 9 month wef 01. 07.2017 to 31.03. 2018", said Kojee.

He also said that there are around 40,000 retired Arunachal Pradesh State government employees but the exact figure is yet to finalized as several passed away in course of time.

He also appealed to the State government to constitute a cell for helping the retired pensioners in updating their documents and help them in getting their pension/ family pension smoothly and timely.
