TAWANG: The annual scientific advisory committee meeting of Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Tawang was held on Wednesday, which was chaired by Tawang deputy commissioner Kesang Ngurup Damo along with EAC Tsering Choden and other members.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that no other culture can survive without agriculture. He commended KVK for doing a satisfactory job at ground level in the district and expressed hope that this would contribute to increased production of agriculture and horticulture products. Damo added that work should not be done for formality's sake and that the result of it must be visible on the ground. He asked the Krishi Vigyan Kendra team to increase the number of trainees and training sessions.

Speaking about the Vibrant Village Programme, the DC informed that Jemeithang has been selected by the Centre under the project. He added that the Centre has given instructions to the district administration to improve the income of villagers and rejuvenate Jemeithang. Earlier, senior scientists and the head of KVK Tawang A N Tripathy spoke on the objectives of the meeting. Presentations were also made on the progress report and annual action plan of the KVK by the subject matter specialists.
