Security forces have nabbed one NSCN-K rebel from Manmao in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh

ITANAGAR: Security forces have nabbed one NSCN-K rebel from Manmao in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh. Acting on intelligence inputs, a joint team of the Changlang police and the 9th Rajputana Rifles arrested the rebel from a jhum field in Phinbiro-I village in an operation carried out in the intervening night of March 20 and 21, Changlang SP Mihin Gambo informed. The arrested cadet has been identified as self-styled sergeant Moshang Thampang. During interrogation, the rebel admitted that he had come for extortion in the area, the SP said.

Police recovered an amount of Rs 10,000 along with extortion notes from the possession of the arrested militant, the SP said adding, a case has been registered at Changlang police station under relevant sections of the law.
