ITANAGAR: The seventh 'Arunachal Film Festival-2020', organized by the 'Film Federation of Arunachal' (FFA) in collaboration with the Department of Information & Public Relation concluded on Tuesday.
The film festival was held 'online' due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The online film fest from December 27 to 28 showcased some of the best short and feature films as well as documentaries from the State and across the globe.
Addressing the gathering during the closing day of event, FFA president Hali Welly said that it was the first such 'Film Festival' from the Northeast to have a dedicated website of the festival. The films and workshops were screened and held online with audiences from across the State, country and rest of the world.
He added that the two-day online event showcased the best creative works in the field of cinema. The festival also held panel discussions and master classes with eminent film personalities and mentors to equip the young filmmakers of the State with the art filmmaking.
Welly lauded the support given to the Federation and the organizers from the Chief Minister and the Department of IPR.
The FFA president also appreciated the sincere efforts of all the filmmakers who enthusiastically participated in the festival's competition category and congratulated all the winners. He also mentioned that Arunachal Pradesh has made significant development in the field of filmmaking, in terms of how films are made and how the films are made available to the audiences.
He hoped that the upcoming 'Arunachal Film Policy-2020' will immensely contribute in the development of the State's film industry in the years to come.
Earlier inaugurating the two-day event, Chief Minister Pema Khandu hoped that the Film industry of Arunachal will strive better with each year and that the filmmakers from the State will be creatively at par with the rest of the region and the country.
The seventh 'Arunachal Film Festival-2020' also hosted the second Film Award under various categories.
