Thunderstorms and heavy rain set to hit several Arunachal Pradesh districts from today

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and heavy rain in several parts of Arunachal Pradesh from Tuesday, with adverse weather conditions expected across eastern, central and western districts.

ITANAGAR: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and heavy rain in several parts of Arunachal Pradesh from Tuesday, with adverse weather conditions expected across eastern, central and western districts.

The Meteorological Centre in Itanagar said heavy rain with thunderstorms and lightning is likely at isolated places in West Kameng, East Kameng, Papum Pare, West Siang, Lower Dibang Valley, Lohit and Namsai districts on Tuesday. Thunderstorms with lightning are also expected in East Siang, Upper Siang, Lower Siang, Dibang Valley, Anjaw, Changlang, Tirap and Longding districts.

The unsettled weather is expected to continue on Wednesday, with heavy rain forecast in West Kameng, Papum Pare, West Siang, Lower Dibang Valley and Upper Siang districts. On Thursday, heavy rainfall is likely in parts of Tirap, Longding, Changlang, East Siang, West Kameng and Papum Pare districts.

The IMD said thunderstorms and lightning would persist on Friday and Saturday, with heavy rain likely in West Kameng, Papum Pare, Lohit, Namsai, Changlang, Tirap and Longding districts. For Monday, the weather office issued an alert for thunderstorms with lightning and heavy rain in Papum Pare, Lower Subansiri, West Siang, East Siang, Lower Dibang Valley and Namsai districts. No warning has been issued for Tawang and Shi-Yomi districts.
