Tube wells distributed by NGO to 30 villages under Bordumsa circle

BORDUMSA: Thirty villages under Bordumsa circle in Arunachal's Changlang district were distributed 30 sets of tube wells during a programme organized by a local NGO, Nyanaloka Welfare Society at its head office Ashokarama Buddha Vihara in Bordumsa on Sunday afternoon.

Talo Jerang, the Additional Deputy Commissioner Bordumsa Subdivision, as chief guest on the occasion lauded the efforts of the NGO for undertaking common-people oriented welfare programme in the area and assured all possible help to Nyanaloka Welfare Society in its drive to serve the people of all strata in the days to come. "If the need arises, I will ask the department concerned to help the village people in installing the tube wells distributed today," assured the administrator during his address.

"The Society beyond doubt has been dedicating itself to the service of mankind without confining to a specific class of people or particular jurisdiction over a period of time," said Khachang Maio, the ZPM Bordumsa, while appreciating the yeomen service of the NGO.

Meanwhile, Bhante Nyanaloka, a monk at Bordumsa Buddhist temple who is also the president of the NGO, informed that the 30 tube-well sets for 30 villages were picked up for distribution in order to commemorate and synchronize the 30th death anniversary of Maha Upasika Monica Thaddey's father known for the charity work across the globe. "Mother Monica and her noble gestures have been a constant source of our charitable activities," added the religious leader. "Fifteen tube wells were distributed among the Singpho villages while another 15 were meant for non-Singpho villages," he said.

Besides the village headmen, Panchayat office bearers and social activists of Bordumsa, Mayong Maio, senior public leader, Wakhet Mainong Singpho, the president of Bordumsa Bazar Committee, and other dignitaries were present during the ceremony.
