Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV) Student Wins Science Competition In Guwahati

Itanagar: Jimi Dirchi of Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya (VKV) Balijan in Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh, has won the state level Science Seminar’ 2019. She will now represent the state in the national level competition which would be held at Regional Science Centre, Khanapara in Guwahati on November 6 next. Minjom Taso from VKV, Oyan in East Siang district and Nokman Wangpan from R K Mission School, Narottam Nagar in Tirap district were adjudged second and third respectively. The state level science seminar on the topic “Periodic table of chemical elements: Impact on Human Welfare” was conducted at the premises of Dera Natung Government College here, a press release informed here on Tuesday.

Altogether, 19 students from various districts of Arunachal Pradesh participated in the competition.

Attending the event, Rajiv Gandhi Govt Polytechnic Principal Dr A K Tripathi exhorted the teachers to inculcate scientific temperament in the students and also develop their skill oriented thinking.

He further advised the teachers that during their classroom teaching, they should make the complex things into simple for the sake of the understanding of the students.

Director of Secondary Education Gania Leij, who chaired the programme, congratulated all the judges & participants for their best presentation. He also advised all the participants not to be disheartened if they didn’t come first in the competition, the release added.
