ITANAGAR: West Siang Deputy Commissioner Mito Dirchi convened a meeting with Commandant of 44HQ Border Roads Task Force (BRTF) at Aalo, the district headquarters, and discussed issues pertaining to the Tato-Mechukha road and ways and means to improve the road condition for commuters in the backdrop of massive formation cutting by the contractors during this monsoon.
The meeting, convened on Sunday, was also attended by second in command and officer commanding, Thumbin, an official communiqué informed here on Monday.
Another prominent point of discussion was on acquisition of land for constructions of double-lane road from Pene village to Tato headquarter in the Kaying-Tato road.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC reiterated that the public notice for claims and objection in this regard has been issued and placed under the public domain at Tato and made known to all those residing outside the district through newspaper and electronic media
He further said that the structures which has been constructed on both sides of the Pene-Tato road for the sole purpose of claiming compensation has not been assessed and not included in the cost estimation forwarded to the State Government and the BRTF authorities.
The aggrieved persons could, however, go to the court of law to redress their grievances, if any, the DC added.
