Lailapur (Cachar): Tension along the Assam-Mizoram border continues as the Mizoram Police resisted the move to set up camps for the Central forces along the inter-state border.

On Friday, a team of Assam Police led by the Superintendent of Police of Silchar went to the Lailapur area to set up camps for the Central Paramilitary Force (CPMF) personnel, who have already arrived in Guwahati. However, Mizoram Police resisted the move to set up the camps for the central forces.

The situation became tense as the locals of Lailapur came out to resist any move by the Mizoram Police.

The tension along the inter-state border started when 20 houses and shops were set on fire in the border area on October 17. The violent clash left several injured.
