12 Tonnes of Watermelons Exported to Bihar from Morigaon’s Raja-Mayang Agriculture Circle

In a significant development about 12 tonnes of watermelons were officially exported to Bihar from Bardia under Raja- Mayang Agriculture Circle under Morigaon District Agriculture Office on Friday.

Morigaon: In a significant development about 12 tonnes of watermelons were officially exported to Bihar from Bardia under Raja- Mayang Agriculture  Circle under Morigaon District Agriculture Office on Friday. The watermelons produced by progressive farmer Hemant Deka have been exported to the Bihar market at around Rs 10 per kg in the presence of District Agriculture Officer Ashok Kumar Sharma. The watermelon cultivation started by the Morigaon district agriculture department has gained popularity in the local and Assamese markets. The progressive farmer has cultivated improved Indus variety watermelon on about 3 bighas of land with the assistance of the agriculture department with the aim of capturing the market early.
