13 Teachers Received Tinsukia District Award on Teachers' Day

TINSUKIA: As many as 13 teachers received the Tinsukia District Award on the occasion of Teachers' Day organized by the district administration in association with the Elementary and Secondary Education department, Tinsukia in a centralized programme held at the District Library auditorium.

Attended by more than 200 teachers from across the district, the programme was chaired by Dr Dip Saikia, Principal of Digboi College. While the Inspector of Schools Bitapan Hazarika welcomed the guests, Dr Madan Sarma, former head of Linguistics, Tezpur University, DEEO Binti Sarma, Tinsukia MLA Sanjay Kishan, ADC Shymal Ketra Gogoi, Deputy Commissioner Oinam Sarankumar Singh, Dhandev Mahanta, former chairman of SEBA, addressed the gathering among others. Most of them spoke about the present day teaching relevant to the philosophy of Sarvepalli Radhakrisnan.
