DHUBRI: 15 couples tied nuptial knots in a mass wedding ceremony solemnized by the Kalibari Trustee Board in its premises on Sunday.
The couples from Dhubri and adjoining districts entered into the sacred bond of marriage with the blessings of Goddess Kali, after receiving consent from their guardians, and following the traditional customs and rituals of Hinduism and marriage registration.
Trustee members informed that with the aim of helping begin a new life, filled with new hopes and dreams along with a life partner, each couple was gifted essential household items by the Kalibari Trustee Board. The gifts included gold ornaments, kitchen utensils, steel cupboards, and more, they further informed.
Earlier, in a meeting held prior to the mass wedding, Neepco Director (Independent) Bimal Oswal, Chairman of Dhubri-Gauripur Development Authority Dipak Kumar Saha, and senior officer bearers of Kalibari Trustee Board appreciated the noble initiative by the board and wished the couples.
