DIBRUGARH: Keeping the surge of COVID-19 infection in view, the 19th convocation of Dibrugarh University will be held this year in virtual mode. Noted litterateur Yeshe Dorjee Donggchi will be honoured with D.Litt in the convocation, disclosed Registrar of Dibrugarh University, Prof. Jiten Hazarika.

The convocation programme will kickstart from 11 am on April 25 through website www.dibru.ac.in . Registrar Hazarika further stated that in absence of Chancellor, who is also the Governor of Assam, Prof. Jagadish Mukhi, the degrees would be conferred at the convocation by the Vice-Chancellor, Leelakanta Nath.

Participating as chief guest, Principal of Indian Information Technology, Guwahati, (IITG), Gautam Baruah will virtually address the convocation function. The university will honour eminent writer and Xahitya Akademi Award winner Padmashri Yeshe Dorjee Donggchi with D.litt degree for his immense contribution towards enrichment of Assamese literature. DU Registrar Hazarika called upon all to extend all cooperation for success of the virtual session of the 19th convocation of DU.
