20 years rigorous punishment for rapist Rupam Deuri

MORIGAON: District & Session Judge on Tuesday convicted rapist Rupam Deuri for 20 years of rigorous punishment for raping his own minor sister in 2019. A case was registered against the accused under 473/2019/U/AS376(2)(3) of IPC R/W section 6/9(N) of POCSO Act at Jagiroad Police Station under a complaint made by one Bipin Ch Bordoloi. The court convicted him 20 years of rigorous punishment and a fine of Rs 20 thousand. The court has provided Rs 3 lakh as compensation to the victim.
