260 hectares of agricultural lands affected by drought-like situation in Demow

DEMOW: A drought-like situation has affected Assam due to lack of sufficient rainfall. According to District Agriculture Office Sivasagar sources, 260 hectares of agricultural lands in Demow co-district have been affected. Among them, 108 hectares are crop area land and 152 hectares are agricultural land.

An agriculture official informed that transplant of Sali paddy could be done in only 85 hectares of agricultural lands and that the crop area in Nitaipukhuri area was affected by the drought-like situation after transplantation.
