27th foundation day of Sakha Lekhika Samaroh Samity observed in Doomdooma

DOOMDOOMA: The 27th foundation day of Doomdooma Sakha Lekhika Samaroh Samity was observed at its permanent venue at Rupaisiding on Wednesday with president Dr. Mina Devi Baruah in the chair.

In the beginning, a one-minute silence was observed in the hallowed memories of the five martyrs of the anti-CAA stir. Thereafter, the wall magazine Jyotisnata was inaugurated by noted poet Dr. Aruna Gogoi Baruah. It was followed by recitation of a poem by Dipti Thakur Goswami, which she composed especially for the occasion. Then three speakers -Sarifa Khatun Chaudhury, Bina Devi Bordoloi and Dibyalata Deka - spoke on how they felt about the current agitation against the CAA and appealed to one and all to be restrained and disciplined while taking part in protests. The members presented a jikir. The meeting adopted a resolution opposing the CAA.
