29th foundation day of Morangi College celebrated

Numaligarh: The 29th foundation day of Morangi College (Degree) was celebrated on Saturday. On the occasion, a total of 29 flags were hoisted by 29 senior personalities who had contributed in the establishment of the college. Padmakanta Hazarika, the Principal of college, hoisted the main flag. The students of the college presented welcome song which was followed by a series of programmes. A book fair was also organized on the day and it was inaugurated by eminent writer Jiten Kr Hazarika.

A district-level speech competition among students on the topic ‘Impact of Social Media on Youth Community’ also held and the programme was inaugurated by Vivekanand Sharma, former Principal of Golaghat Commerce College. A total of 33 participants from various colleges of Golaghat district participated in the speech competition. Imran Hussain and Nihar Hazarika of DKD College secured first and second positions respectively whereas Jagriti Chutia of Golaghat Reliance Jr College secured third position in the speech competition.
