KOKRAJHAR: The 2nd edition of the Kokrajhar Literary Festival concluded on Sunday here at the Bodofa Cultural Complex, near the bank of Gaurang River Chandamari in Kokrajhar.
A valedictory session was held in the afternoon in connection with the festival. Speaker of the Assam Legislative Assembly Biswajit Daimary attended the session as chief guest while Prof. Amarjyoti Choudhury, former VC, Gauhati University and renowned poet attended the session as special guest.
BTC chief Promod Boro, Assam Cabinet Minister UG Brahma, Prof. Abdul Alim, Aligarh Muslim University and Meetesh Nirmohi, Sahitya Akademi Awardee also attended the valedictory session as invited guests.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Amarjyoti Choudhury expressed his immense satisfaction over the literary festival in which the Bodo language and culture had been focused to grow vigorously through this festival. He also recited a poem on this occasion.
Minister UG Brahma in his speech said that one of the primary mottos of this festival was to revive the languages and cultures which were facing the threat of extinction and also to unite the isolated pieces of languages spoken in several segments in this country.
BTC chief Promod Boro expressed his gratitude to the luminaries in the field of literate attended this festival in order to generate a dynamic orientation and enrich the people about the importance and scope of studies in literature. Besides, he assured that in the coming days such a festival would be organized in a more vibrant manner.
