We are with BJP for development: BTC CEM Promod Boro

GUWAHATI: BTC CEM (Chief Executive Member) Promod Boro said the UPPL is with the BJP to develop BTR (Bodo Territorial Region) and Assam as a whole.

The BTC CEM was at the Assam Legislative Assembly Secretariat today for the oath-taking of two UPPL MLAs. Two candidates of the party won the recent bye-poll.

Talking to newsmen, Boro said, "We are with the BJP. Our prime agenda is development. The present BJP-led coalition government at Dispur is working to achieve that goal."

When asked if the BJP and Hagrama Mohilary will ally, Boro said, "BJP is a national political party. They will know their internal and external policies. We are with the BJP for the interests of people and development. We don't bother who will ally with whom.

"I am new in politics. I have no compulsion of any sort. I will not go against the interests of the BTR and the people of the state. I have an ideology that I cannot ignore. If an alliance with Hagrama becomes a reality and if I feel that will affect us, I will not support it."

The former ABSU (All Bodo Students' Union) president further said, "Seizure of arms goes on in the BTR from time to time. Who are the men behind it? It needs a proper inquiry."
