LAKHIMPUR: Three more persons succumbed to COVID-19 in Lakhimpur in last two days. They have been identified as Sahida Begum (59), resident of Fenkhati under Laluk area, Giyasuddin (78), resident of Pachim Chandmari, Ward No. 14 of North Lakhimpur town and Jyotsna Gogoi (35), resident of Sukulibhoriya, near North Lakhimpur town. Jyotsna Gogoi died at a private sector nursing home in Dibrugarh on Wednesday.

On the other hand, total of 91 fresh COVID-19 cases were detected in Lakhimpur on Thursday. On this day, a total of 1,901 people underwent the Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) conducted by the District Health Department in eight COVID-19 Test Centres set up across the district including North Lakhimpur Urban Hospital, Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital Respiratory Clinic and other Block Primary Health Centres (BPHCs). Out of them, the detected cases were reported from North Lakhimpur Urban Hospital (14), Dhalpur BPHC (16), Bihpuriya BPHC (9), Naoboicha BPHC (5), Boginadi BPHC (20), Ghilamora BPHC (9), Dhakuakhana BPHC (2) and Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital Respiratory Clinic (16).

With these 91 fresh patients, the cumulative total of COVID-19 cases of the district has surged to 10,250 since April 4 of the last year.
