53rd Foundation day of Assam Agricultural University celebrated in Jorhat

TEZPUR: A day-long programme was organized by KVK, Sonitpur on Thursday on the occasion of the 53rd foundation day of Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat.

To mark the occasion, the flag of Assam Agricultural University was hoisted followed by a speech by Dr. PC Deka, Head, KVK, Sonitpur. In his speech, Dr. Deka elaborated the role played by Assam Agricultural University for the betterment of the farming community. The programme was attended by a few farmers from the nearby village and the 4th year students of Assam Agricultural University, Jorhat under Rural Agricultural Work Experience programme (RAWEP).

On the occasion, a campus cleaning drive was also organized under 'Swachhta Hi Seva' programme. The cleaning drive was followed by an extempore speech competition among the students of Assam Agricultural University where the students shared their experience in Assam Agricultural University. The programme was attended by all the staff of KVK, Sonitpur.
