The Lakhimpur district administration has been continuing extensive a drive these days in order to issue the Ayushman Bharat Cards to the eligible beneficiaries under the (NFSA) in the district.

LAKHIMPUR: The Lakhimpur district administration has been continuing extensive a drive these days in order to issue the Ayushman Bharat Cards to the eligible beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) in the district.

As per report, there are a 7,00,237 NFSA beneficiaries having ration cards in the district. Out if them, only 1,49,416 beneficiaries have received the Ayushman Bharat card so far.

In this connection, Geetalee Duworah, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (Health) of Lakhimpur district said, “The district administration has been making due efforts to ensure the issuance of the Ayushman Bharat Cards to the rest 5,50,821 beneficiaries by March 25. The Bank Sakhis, Insurance Sakhis under the Assam Rural Livelihood Mission and ASHA workers, ASHA supervisors, MPWs etc. are visiting door-to-door to make the cards. So I appeal to the beneficiaries to contact Bank Sakhis, Insurance Sakhis, ASHA workers of health department, ASHA supervisors and MPWs in their respective areas to get the card.” Moreover, the work of making the card is going on in the primary health centres of the district along with the Fair Price Shops, the ADC added.

Notably, every beneficiary who has ration card is eligible for this card. The government will bear medical expenses of up to Rs 5 lakh per annum for each beneficiary of this card. In Lakhimpur district, enrolment facilities for this health schemes are available at government health establishments like Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital, Bihpuria Community Health Centre, Dhakuakhana Subdivisional Civil Hospital, Bongalmora Community Health Centre, Lakhimpur Cancer Centre, Naoboicha Community Health Centre, Laluk Model Hospital and private sector nursing homes like Avanish Hospital, Dr. Das Hospital and Research Centre, Lakhimpur Eye Hospital, Mid-Town Hospital and Research Institute, North East Nursing Home and Soumarpeeth Nursing Private Limited.
