GORESWAR: The 5th biennial conference of Baksa District Journalists' Union will be held with a two-days long colourful programme at Tamulpur Press Club from August 27.

On this occasion, on August 27, following the delegate registration, the last executive meeting of Baksa District Journalists' Union will be held. The delegate session will be inaugurated formally by Bijit Gwra Narzary , MCLA of Darangajuli BTC constituency, in the evening.

On August 28, the flag hoisting will be done by Kameswar Das, outgoing president of Baksa District Journalists' Union while garlanding and smriti tarpan will be done by Ramen Das, I/C general secretary of Bodoland Journalists' Union and Ananda Ramciary, I/C president of Tamulpur Press Club, respectively.

At noon, the open meeting will be inaugurated by Pramod Boro, Chief Executive Member of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) and the open meeting will be presided over by outgoing district president Kameswar Das.

Hem Chandra Pathak, Baksa District Information and Public Relations Officer, will release a souvenir while Jolen Daimary, MLA of Tamulpur LAC, will release a mouthpiece. Naba Thakuria, senior journalist, will take part as appointed speaker in the open meet while Simanta Kumar Das, Deputy Commissioner of the Tamulpur district, will grace the meeting as chief guest.
