6th triennial session of Sanmilita Gana Shakti, Asom concludes in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: The 6th triennial session of the Sanmilita Gana Shakti, Asom (SGSA) which was conducted in Dhakuakhana subdivision of Lakhimpur district with a three-day-long programme, concluded recently.

The event was held at Town Tiniali of Dhakuakhana, the venue of which was ceremonially named as Titaram Gogoi Kshetra. On the occasion of the event, more than 3,000 delegates and topmost leaders from 27 Mandal Committees of the political party, covering the State, assembled at Titaram Gogoi Kshetra.

The concluding day agenda of the event began with another symposium on ‘Women’s rights and legal security’. The symposium commenced with Bhabani Duworah, the president of the Sanmilita Nari Shakti, Asom, in the chair. Senior lawyer Bulumoni Dutta attended the symposium as resource person. In addition, two more symposia were held on the day on two different subjects – ‘Role of mothers in the mentality development of the children’ and ‘Labour Acts and their effective implementation’. Kamakhya Prasad Baruah and Lakhimpur District Labour Officer Brojen Borah took part in the symposia as resource persons.

During the session, the SGSA State executive committee was constituted with Paramananda Chayengiya as president, Mahim Hazarika as executive president, Hiranya Dutta, Ranjit Doley, Johan Doley Jatin Chetia as vice-presidents, Raju Khanikar, Purushottam Doley, Naresh Kumbang and Guna Chutia as general secretaries.

On the other hand, the State executive body of the Sanmilita Nari Shakti, Asom was formed with Bhabani Duworah as president, Indira Sinte Kumbang, Rajani Basumatary, Sarala Doley, Nayanmoni Gogoi as vice-presidents, Chaya Devi Bora, Nibha Pegu Mili, Ronita Doley as general secretaries. Similarly, the State executive bodies of the Sanmilita Shramik Shakti, Asom and Sanmilita Krishak Shakti, Asom were also constituted in the same event.
