70th foundation day of KAAC observed in West Karbi Anglong district

DONGKAMUKAM: The 70th foundation day of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) was observed at Hamren KAAC Branch Secretariat, the headquarter of West Karbi Anglong district, on Wednesday.

MLA Rupsing Teron, who is also EM of KAAC, hoisted the national flag at Hamren KAAC Branch Secretariat in the morning followed by a floral tribute before the statue of Semson Sing Ingti, the Father of Karbi Anglong, and t Dhaniram Rongpi Rengbonghom, first Karbi King, and Mahatma Gandhi. Thereafter, he visited Hamren Civil Hospital and distributed snacks to the patients.

Later, in a public meeting held at the branch Secretariat campus, Teron urged upon the gathering not to forget their forefathers who had sacrificed themselves for Karbi Anglong. "We are now in our own land because of them," he said.
