76th Narayanpur session of Axam Xahitya Xabha to kickstart today in Lakhimpur district

LAKHIMPUR: The 76th full-term session of the Axam Xahitya Xabha (AXX), the most revered and pioneer literary body of the State, will kickstart in Narayanpur of Lakhimpur district on Tuesday. To promote the culture of Assam and Assamese literature, the five-day long extravaganza has been organized at Monikanchan Kshetra (Bor Khamti Pothar) of Narayanpur, where Mahapurush Madhavdev, the luminous icon of spirituality and the chief disciple of Srimanta Sankardev was born. Already, the people of larger Narayanpur and Bihpuria area are all set to host the coveted event and welcome the dignitaries, book lovers of the State, invited and expected to be assembled in the Monikanchan Kshetra.

The reception committee, along with its 45 sub-committees, has already completed its preparation to conduct the extravaganza with success. Already a festive environment has gripped the area with people seen busy working for the smooth conduct of all events of the conference which is the biggest confluence of the literature and language of the State.

Reception committee president-cum-Bihpuria MLA Dr Amiya Kumar Bhuyan and general secretary Makhan Tamuli said that the construction of the mammoth main pandal, cultural stage, dining hall and infrastructure for book fair, trade fair had already been completed. A total of twenty thousand people can seat in the main pandal at a time while ten thousand people can dine together in the dining hall. General secretary Makhan Tamuli informed that over 3000 delegates of the AXX from different parts of the State would assemble in the conference.
