Earlier an official crime report on cases of women related violence has revealed a very gloomy picture of the state of law and order in Assam as far as the last two years of BJPcoming into power in the state.

As per the report, a whopping 4,130 cases of rape have been reported, and over 15,000 dowry-related violence, ever since the BJP-led government came to power in the state two years ago.

Experts are of the view that such rising figures of crimes of sexuality and violence against women could be assessed as an embarrassment to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led state government since it came to power in 2016 while assuring the protection of lives and property of the people.
