Khanindra Nath Choudhury, a resident of Japorigog, Krishna Nagar Bazar, Sonaipath, Guwahati passed away on 5th December 2020 after a brief illness. He was born to late Hem Kanta Bepari and Late Padma Bala Das of Galiyahati (No. 2), Barpeta, on 27th June, 1937.

Choudhury worked at the Department of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Government of Assam and retired as Assistant Director from Diphu, Karbi Anglong in 1999. He was associated with various socio-cultural activities of Japorigog, Krishna Nagar area and was also working as the treasurer of Sadou Japorigog Sarbajanin Puja Samiti and Kala-Krishti Bikash Kendra, Japorigog, Guwahati. He was an active member of Krishna Nagar Unnayan Samity, Krishna Nagar Senior Citizen Association, JaporigogLakhiMandir and Namghar. Choudhury was a very hard working, self-reliant and selfless person.

He was married to Bhanu Choudhury of Sundaridia, Barpeta and left behind a son Dr Gunindra Nath Choudhury, daughter-in-law Dr Mitali Deka, a daughter Dr Bula Choudhury and son-in-law Dr Arup Ratan Pal besides grandchildren Jishnu Shreya, Dishnu Shreya, Rajanya Shekhar and a host of relatives.

His last rites were completed at Nabagraha Funeral ground in the presence of a huge number of relatives, friends and admirers.
