Abandoned child rescued in Tamulpur, Now Under Government Care

An abandoned baby girl was handed over by the Goreswar Community Health Centre to the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) of Tamulpur district recently.

GORESWAR: An abandoned baby girl was handed over by the Goreswar Community Health Centre to the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) of Tamulpur district recently. The child is currently being cared for and protected at the Tamulpur Government Specialized Adoption Agency (SAA).

Despite extensive efforts, the centre has not been able to trace the child’s family. The baby is currently 45 days old and her mother is reportedly a mentally-ill woman from the Bodo community. A press release issued by Bijay Bezbaruah, Public Relation Officer of Tamulpur, stated that anyone with information about the child’s family may contact the Office of the District Child Protection Officer, Charangbari, Purana Chowk of Tamulpur district or contact 80116-21437 or 80118-17694.
