ABSU mourns demises of NDFB former finance secretary Janardhan Basumatary

Kokrajhar: The general secretary of the ABSU, Lawrence Islary on Monday condoled the demise of former finance secretary of the NDFB (P), Janardhan Basumatary alias B. Detsung who breathed his last on Monday morning after prolonged illness at his residence in Udalguri.

Islary in a statement said that Basumatary was a dedicated leader of the outfit and played a crucial role in the peace talks with the Government of India. Basumatary was born at Banglabari village in Mushalpur of Baksa district but settled at Purani Goibari in Udalguri district. He became general secretary of the Dhiren Boro-led NDFB later.
