KOKRAJHAR: The All-Bodo Students’ Union (ABSU) termed the Assam Budget, 2025-26 ‘Inclusive’ for the growth and empowerment especially for the 6th schedule administrative region.
ABSU President Dipen Boro said that the Assam Budget 2025-26 brought a ray of hope for the Bodoland region and this inclusive decision for Bodoland is praiseworthy. He said that the specifications of Rs 1,143 crore for infrastructure development and implementation of BTR Accord 2020, Rs 30 crore to support over 4,000 conflict-affected families in BTR and upgradation of 25 Bodo medium schools to model schools, and relaxation of eligibility criteria for educationally backward blocks and sixth schedule areas to ensure inclusive education are very remarkable.
Boro said that these inclusive steps will give a ray of hope and show a strong commitment to peace, development, education, and social justice in Bodoland. He also said that the inclusive budget will truly address the region’s needs and ensure its growth and empowerment.
Meanwhile, ABSU President Boro extended his heartfelt congratulations to Barlangfa Narzary for being conferred with the Assam Gaurav Award 2024, one of the highest civilian honours in the state. He said Narzary’s tireless dedication to preserving and promoting Bodo traditional dance is truly inspiring. He also said that this recognition will reflect his invaluable contributions to Bodo culture and heritage. He wished him success in enriching the Bodo community’s cultural legacy.
