GUWAHATI: The two-day Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit 2025 ended with the signing of investment proposals worth Rs. 10,785 crore, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced. The summit reflected Assam's seriousness in attracting varied investments, with significant agreements being signed across various sectors.

Among the key deals, the state government signed a Rs. 3,000 crore Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Virinchi Limited to establish a 200 MW data center. Additionally, a Rs. 200 crore agreement was reached with Virinchi Healthcare Private Limited for a 500-bed super specialty hospital. Star Cements Ltd committed Rs. 3,200 crore for a cement clinker and grinding plant through its subsidiary, while Matheson Hydrogen Pvt Ltd signed a Rs. 1,500 crore pact for a hydrogen and steam generation plant.

Some other notable deals were a Rs. 700 crore one with UltraTech Cement for a grinding unit, a Rs. 1,000 crore one with Copper Plus Holdings SAC for mining exploration services, and Rs. 275 crore investment by Tamara Leisure Experiences for an eco-resort in Kaziranga. Varun Beverages Limited also committed Rs. 510 crore towards a new factory.

A total of 164 MoUs were signed on the inaugural day of the summit across 15 sectors, with significant players such as Adani Group, Tata Power, and JSW Energy declaring huge investments. Global partnerships consisted of deals with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and Ministry of Trade and Industry, Singapore, on areas of health and skill development.
