Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that a team from Assam, led by Minister Keshab Mahanta, has reached Thailand to attract investors for the upcoming Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit scheduled for February.

This follows successful roadshows in Delhi and Mumbai. CM Sarma also revealed plans to extend the campaign to the US, Singapore, Japan, and other countries to promote Assam's growth opportunities.

Posting on X, the CM stated, "After Delhi and Mumbai, our investor roadshows now reach Thailand. Over the next coming days, Team Assam will travel to the US, Singapore, Japan and other countries to share with global investors our vision for #AdvantageAssam2."

An official statement noted that Ambassador Nagesh Singh welcomed Minister Mahanta and his delegation in Bangkok. The team held discussions with representatives from Thailand’s hospitality and tourism sectors, inviting Thai businesses to invest in Assam's development journey.

Highlighting Assam's growth, CM Sarma stated that the state is growing at 12.5% annually, positioning itself as a key growth engine in India. At a recent event in Delhi, he urged diplomats, ASEAN and BIMSTEC representatives, and industry leaders from 36 countries to invest in Assam’s robust economy.

CM Sarma outlined Rs 1 lakh crore worth of upcoming infrastructure projects, including new bridges over the Brahmaputra, a satellite city near Guwahati with Singapore's assistance, and a rail link to Bhutan. He emphasized the state’s focus on green energy, aiming to power industries through renewable sources, including the Tata semiconductor plant at Jagiroad.
