Kokrajhar: At a time when people have been asked to remain indoors to prevent spread of the pandemic coronavirus, a large number of people were seen queuing up for LPG cylinders. Ahead of the lockdown from 6 pm on Tuesday, a long queue of LPG consumers was seen in front of Kokrajhar Cooperative Indane, despite the fact that people have been asked to maintain social distancing and avoid gatherings. There was also a huge rush of people in the markets to buy essential commodities. Many people were not wearing masks and this has caused major concern among the conscious circle.

Interacting with this reporter, many LPG consumers said they had been waiting in the long queue since morning. Meanwhile, the district administration of Kokrajhar has started taking strong measures against people who defy instructions and roam around on the streets. The inter-State and international border with Bhutan has already been sealed.
