KARBI ANGLONG: Ahmedabad police rescued three minor girls kidnapped from Assam on Saturday. The three girls belong to the Baithalangso region of West Karbi Anglong district.
An FIR was filed by the family of the three girls on September 11 at the Baithalangso Police Station. The three girls went missing from the Toradubi region.
The FIR was lodged against two minor boys who allegedly kidnapped the minor girls.
Assam Police launched an investigation, traced the mobile phones of the girls and discovered that they were currently travelling to Ahmedabad via train.
Subsequently, the Ahmedabad Railway Police were informed about the incident. Their efforts led to the rescuing of the minor girls. Soon after the duo was arrested too.
The accused have been identified as Dhanesh Barman and Pawan Barman. Both are residents of the Baksa district.
According to reports, the Ahmedabad Police also rescued another minor girl and a boy.
Baithalangso Police brought back the arrested minors and the rescued from Ahmedabad.
Going by shocking statistics in reports, police have rescued about 20 children of Karbi Anglong from different parts of the country.
In a similar event, four kidnapped girls of Arunachal Pradesh were rescued by the Arunachal Pradesh Police from a lodge in Guwahati, Assam.
Arunachal Pradesh Police coordinated with Assam Police officers in a joint operation and consequently rescued the minors. They also arrested a woman as the prime accused.
The Diyun Police Station in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh received complaints about four missing girls on September 8 from the Manabhum area.
Subsequently, Arunachal Pradesh Police started an investigation of the matter and traced the location of the girls.
Changlang SP, Mihin Gambo coordinated with Assam Police DIGP Prasanta Changmai and DCP of Dispur Sudhakar Singh to corner the exact location of the missing minors.
