All Assam Students' Union leader Raju Phukan resigns

The chief organizing secretary of the All Assam Students’ Union (AASU), Raju Phukan resigned from the organization on Saturday.

GOLAGHAT: The chief organizing secretary of the All Assam Students' Union (AASU), Raju Phukan resigned from the organization on Saturday.

Raju Phukan started his career from Bilgaon regional AASU committee and held the post of Golaghat district committee president. Later, he held the post of chief organizing secretary of AASU central committee. On Saturday, he officially resigned from AASU and ended his 27 year-long journey with the student body.

Sources said that he would work in the new political organization which would be formed jointly by AASU and Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad (AJYCP). He was warmly felicitated at a programme held at Sarupathar and the Golaghat AASU office.
