DIBRUGARH: In a major crackdown on an alleged financial fraud network, Dibrugarh police arrested alleged fraudster Imtiaz Hussain from his residence near the road connecting Chiring Chapori and Amolapatty on Thursday.
According to sources, Hussain had allegedly locked himself inside his house and was attempting to evade arrest. Acting on the information, a large police team reached the spot in the presence of a magistrate and broke open the door before taking him into custody.
Hussain is accused of duping several people of crores of rupees by promising them jobs and, in some cases, shops in return for money.
